What You Should Do Before Your Laser Hair Removal?

  • It is always important to shave the area at least 24 hours before your appointment. This ensures that the energy of the laser will be utilized exactly where it should be (i.e. at the root of the hair) and not at the hair shaft (i.e. the part of the hair that protrudes above the skin).
  • Before the application at our place, it is advisable to remove the make up if the application of the Laser is to be done on the face.
  • A period of 4-6 weeks has passed since applying wax or electric hair removal. The laser irradiates the hair follicle, which will be destroyed by epilation. Failure to follow this advice may result in ineffective treatment.
  • The administration of any medication that causes skin photosensitivity has stopped.
  • Do not use deodorants before the treatment.
  • There should be no irritation or inflammation of the skin in the specific area.
  • You may have a burning sensation as in sunbathing for 1-3 hours after using the Laser.
  • Whatever hair type you have, don’t expect to see a definitive result from the first treatment. Of course there will be a visible result, but it will not be quite satisfactory. Usually at least 5-6 treatments are required for a definitive result, but the exact number is determined individually for each person.

What Should You Do After A Laser Hair Removal Session?

  • Avoid sunbathing for at least 72 hours. Use an intensive sunscreen if exposed to direct sunlight. The products you apply should have at least an SPF 50 to ensure your skin is protected. Apply sunscreen mainly to the areas to be treated with laser.
  • It is not recommended to shave the area where the Laser was applied for 24 hours or until any irritation has disappeared.
  • For 7 days it is advisable to avoid exfoliating the skin.
  • The use of saunas, solariums, hot thermal baths, hot showers or strenuous exercise for 2-3 days is strictly prohibited.

When Is Not Allowed To Have Laser Hair Removal?

  • It is forbidden to use in pregnant or lactating women. For pregnant and lactating women, its better to talk with your Gynecologist.
  • If there is herpes or an open wound, it is good to have the appropriate treatment and after the treatment to follow the Laser application for hair removal.
